The National Retail Federation Tuesday
took the step of raising its holiday sales forecast
a full point, from a 2.3 percent rise to 3.3 percent over last year's number.
The number excludes cars, gasoline and meals, according to Reuters.

The group said that retail sales in November jumped 6.8 percent over last year.
