After dealing with shortages of its popular Wii console the past two holiday seasons, Nintendo isn't taking any chances this year. The company plans to increase the supply of the Wii by 50 percent over last year, according to an interview the company's American president, Reggie Fils-Aime,
gave to the Los Angeles Times last week.
Fils-Aime warned, however, that demand could rise even higher than the planned increase in supply. He added that Nintendo has "not seen any negative impact" in Wii or DS sales due to the economic crisis, and that sales in September actually gained from the same period last year.
