Off to a Good Start

By Eric Schwartz

The numbers are in and it looks like it has been a successful holiday season for consumer electronics retailers. It was been a pretty good time for the Consumer Technology Publishing Group as well. Not only did we produce one of the largest issues of Dealerscope ever, but we also launched our latest magazine, Home Furnishings Business (HFB).

Like Dealerscope, HFB is a business and strategy magazine for furniture retailers and their industry. Our publishing team and editors worked hard to get this magazine out in January and I’m proud to say it was a very successful first issue, one that has already been well received in the industry.

Another great accomplishment for our group is the opportunity to produce the show dailies for the upcoming Photo Marketing Association (PMA) conference. The show, held in Orlando at the end of February, has long been recognized as one of the most important for the camera industry. Heading up the dailies will be the editor in chief of Picture Business, Mike McEnaney. Mike and his team will cover the most important trends and new products from the show each day, as well as get insightful interviews, hopefully with readers like you attending the show.

So, for us, it has been a year of change and new business. How about you? Are you making big changes this year? Are you opening new stores or maybe redesigning old ones? Perhaps you’re adding a new product line you never offered before, or are trying out a better means of running your back office or warehouse. If so, let us know. We always have our ears open for interesting stories from our dealer community, but sometimes the best way for us know all about it is for you to tell us. Our editor’s doors are always open. Don’t be afraid to say hello.
