Onkyo Gets In Shape With Trainer Headphones

Wireless over-ears aimed at fitness market

Onkyo at CES this week unveiled the latest member of its headphone line, the Trainer ES-BT1 Bluetooth phones aimed at the fitness market.

The Trainer, a follow-up to one of Dealerscope’s favorite headphones in its class, last year’s ES-HF 300 over-ears, sits on the ear to allow the user to hear enough sound to be safe during outdoor activities. They feature 40 mm, custom Digital Signal Processing and Bluetooth Version 2.1 + EDR to produce composed treble, clean mid-range and punchy bass, according to the company. The breathable fabric on the ear cup helps to wick away sweat and can be easily wiped clean after each workout. The Trainer features concealed playback and call controls, a built-in microphone, and are compatible with a wide range of smartphones. They are available in three color combinations for $99.
