Panasonic Consumer Electronics Co. on Monday announced that it has promoted Robert Perry to the position of executive vice president. In the new role, Perry will supervise the company's sales, marketing and product merchandising, and will report to company president Shiro Kitajima.

Perry had previously been senior vice president, while supervising the Viera plasma and LCD brands.

"It is an honor and a privilege to be asked to serve in this position at Panasonic," Perry said in a statement. "As a servant to our customers and to our internal team members, I plan to do my best to improve our organization so that it is better able to meet the evolving needs of the marketplace."
