Panasonic Reopens Two Japan Factories
Panasonic has reopened operations at a pair of Japan facilities, the company announced in an update Friday.
The company said that the Fukushima Factory (manufacturing digital cameras) and AVC Networks Company Sendai Factory (manufacturing optical pickups) have both restarted partial operations as of Friday, joining four others that came back online in the last week of March.
Panasonic also confirmed the safety of all of its employees in the region following the earthquake and tsunami, aside from some minor injuries. The company also said that it will make an announcement "if a significant impact on Panasonic's consolidated financial outlook for fiscal 2011" related to the tragedy in foreseen.
