Pioneer Electronics this week announced the arrival of five new A/V receivers. Three of them, the VSX-824 5.2-channel, VSX-1024 and VSX-1124 7.2-channel receivers, are branded Pioneer, while two others, the VSX-44 and VSX-80 7.2-channel receivers, carry the Elite brand.

The two Elite receivers both include HDMI 2.0, an industry first.

The Elite receivers will retail for $500 and $700, with the Pioneer receivers going for $399, $499 and $599.

“Our Elite products have always been about the custom installer, offering them a variety of features that make the installation and setup process of advanced home theater systems much easier,”  Chris Walker, director of AV product planning and marketing for the Home Electronics Division of Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc, said as part of the announcement.

“Integration of features such as reliable RS-232 control over IP and multi-zone capabilities makes a big difference in saving them valuable time and labor.”
