Polk Headphones Target Sports, Fitness Demographics

Polk Audio has introduced four headphone models in a new line it is aiming at the sports and fitness markets. 

Polk’s UltraFit line ranges from $49.95 to $99.95 and includes in-ear and on-ear designs in a variety of color combinations. Polk is emphasizing both the sound quality and the comfort and fit properties of the headphones when they are used by active lifestylers.

All models come with zippered cases and offer Polk’s SecureFit design, which keeps the headphones securely in or on the ear, and water-resistant, anti-microbial properties, as well as tangle-free flat planar audio cabling.  All are also designed with Kevlar-reinforced hinge points to reduce the possibility of breakage.

The top-line in-ear-canal headphone, UltraFit 3000, features an in-line three-button remote control and microphone and two pairs of StayFit three-flange silicone tips.  The Ultrafit 2000, an on-ear model, boasts an airframe design and a reflective, wraparound headband.

The company is mounting national magazine and digital ad campaigns with the tagline, Performance Starts Hear, featuring pro basketball athlete Rudy Gay.
