Proficient Fields Its First TV Speaker at CEDIA Expo
Proficient Audio Systems showcased at the 2012 CEDIA Expo its first TV speaker, which it has just begun marketing.
The $599 MaxTV MT2 under-TV sound system, as it is billed, is designed to tap into the nearly 80 percent of flat-panel TV consumers who do not elect to hang their sets on the wall, according to Proficient president Keith Marshall.
The MaxTV chassis encases two 5-1/4-inch downfiring subs, each in its own tuned and vented internal enclosure, four 2-1/2-inch midrange drivers and two one-inch tweeters, and produces 80 watts. The system has a Bluetooth feature that allows it to be paired with a smartphone or tablet to play content from those devices.
