Retail Sales Drop, CE Up
June 13, 2010Retail sales in the U.S. dropped 1.2 percent in May, the first drop since September, according to figures released Friday by the Census Bureau.
The estimated May total was $362.5 billion, a figure which represented a 7.4 percent gain from the same month last year.
Electronics and appliances, however, were a bright spot, rising to an estimated $7.87 billion from April's $7.2 billion figure.
