RIM Cuts Employees

BlackBerry maker Research in Motion announced Monday that it is letting go of 2,000 employees, around one tenth of workforce.

The company also said that its chief operating officer will be split among two executives, with Thorsten Heins becoming COO for products and sales and Jim Rowan COO for operations. Don Morrison, the current COO, will retire.
