Industry legend Sam Runco has written a thank you letter on the occasion of his recent induction into the Consumer Electronics Association Hall of Fame. Here is the full text:

It was such a proud moment for me when I was inducted into the CEA Hall of Fame on Oct 25. at the CEA Forum. There are several people who I want to thank that made that evening truly remarkable.

First of all my daughter Sarah, who was so supportive. Sarah was at the center of pulling together so much of the entire night and the days prior to that evening. I truly could not have done it without her, she really was and continues to be my rock. Of course my wife Lori and my boys Sammy and Nick are always there for me; I am a very lucky man.

I would also like to thank CEA President and CEO Gary Shapiro. Gary has really helped to promote our industry and has focused on making sure the industry works together; not always an easy task. In every single phase he is a true consumer advocate and a truly remarkable man.

Of course I want to thank all of the judges: I have deep gratitude in being selected for this great honor. Particularly California Congressman Darrell Issa; we haven't always agreed, but I respect him, he's a good man and CTPG's Eric Schwartz, he and his wonderful wife Vicki and daughters exemplify what it means to be a family.  Special thanks to CustomRetailer's Editor Maureen Jenson and Publisher Carol Campbell, who continue to be supportive through so many of their actions.

And to all of my fellow inductees, I couldn't be prouder to be inducted with such an illustrious group of gentlemen. Who would have thought that all 11 of us would have been able to get inducteed into a hall of fame before my good friend Pete Rose, who deserves to be in a hall of fame as much as anyone?
