Samsung, Barnes & Noble Team on Tablets

Barnes & Noble is taking another crack at tablets, with some help from Samsung.

Samsung and B&N’s Nook Media subsidiary said Thursday that they have partnered to create a tablet product called Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK. The tablets will combine the established Nook interface with Samsung Galaxy hardware.

B&N had announced last year that it was discontinuing Nook tablets, although they continued to sell Nook e-readers, including the GlowLight.

“We are very excited and proud to partner with Samsung, a world-class technology and tablet leader, to create customized co-branded devices featuring our valuable NOOK reading experience and digital content catalog for Barnes & Noble customers nationwide,” Michael P. Huseby, Chief Executive Officer of Barnes & Noble, Inc., said in a statement.
