Samsung has abandoned plans to purchase SanDisk, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday.
The South Korean CE giant had attempted a hostile takeover of the chip maker last year that was rejected and eventually withdrawn. The announcement last week was a final admission that Samsung will not pursue the matter further.
