Smartphones Reach 59 Percent; iPhones On Top

The percent of U.S. mobile phone sales which are smartphones has reached 59 percent as of the third quarter, NPD Group said Monday.
NPD's newly launched Smartphone Trak service also released a ranking of the most sold smartphones in the quarter, and two different iPhones took the top two spots. The iPhone 4 was first, followed by the iPhone 3GS, the HTC EVO 4G, the Motorola Droid 3 and Samsung Intensity II.
The latter three are all Android models.
