Sony Offers First Ultra HD Content

Sony Electronics Thursday announced the first content that will be available for its new Ultra HD technology, which the company is still marketing under the “4K” name.

Sony announced the new 4K Ultra HD Video Player, a hard-disk server that connects to the company’s 84-inch 4K LED TV. The player will be loaned to customers purchasing the new TV.

The system upscales current video inputs. The available content includes such titles as “The Amazing Spider-man,” “Bad Teacher,” “Taxi Driver” and “The Bridge on the River Kwai.” The Video Player also comes with a gallery of shorts.
