Sony Thursday announced a strike back at rival Amazon and its Kindle, making a deal with Google to make 500,000 books from the company's online archive available on the Sony Reader device.
According to the New York Times, financial terms were not disclosed. Google in the past five years has scanned millions of off-copyright books and other material in the public domain.
