Sony Unveils First Tablets

With all the companies unveiled tablet computers in the last year, Sony has been conspicuous by their absence from that market. That changed Tuesday, when the CE giant announced the upcoming release of its first two tablets, both called Sony Tablet.

The two tablets, known as “S1” and “S2,” will both arrive worldwide this fall. Both will feature Android 3.0 and both Wi-Fi and 3G/4G capability.

The S1, 9.4 inches, is geared towards “rich media entertainment,” while the S2 features a pair of 5.5-inch displays and will be foldable.
