Sprint to Close Over 50 Stores

Sprint is planning to close more than 50 stores and shutter three call centers, in a reorganization that will entail the elimination of 1,400 jobs, Recode reported Thursday.

A representative told Recode that the cuts were the result of “greater efficiencies” through simpler pricing plans. The site also said that 85 percent of workers in the closed stores will retain their jobs.

The call centers are in Sacramento, Elmsford, N.Y.; Overland Park, Kan.
