Systemax Names New Tech Product Chief

Best Buy veteran replaces Fiorentino

Systemax Tuesday named David Sprosty the new chief executive of its Technology Products Group. He replaces Gilbert Fiorentino, who left the company last spring following allegations of financial improprieties.

Systemax CEO Richard Leeds had filled the position on an interim basis. The group oversees the TigerDirect and CompUSA brands.

Sprosty spent several years at Best Buy in multiple roles, including Chief Executive Officer of Best Buy Mobile. He most recently worked as Managing Partner at management consulting agency The ROIG Group.

“On behalf of our Board of Directors and employees, I’d like to welcome David to Systemax. David brings extensive and valuable experience in the retail and consumer electronics industry to our executive management team. He is a customer-centric and visionary business leader, with experience in strategic planning, operational execution and business development,” Leeds said in a statement.

“He has a proven track record of success in delivering sustainable revenue growth throughout his career and in his 11 years at Best Buy was instrumental in the development of that retailer’s connected devices business lines.”
