Target Drops Kindle

Target has decided to stop carrying Amazon’s Kindle line in its stores, The Verge reported Wednesday, citing a “conflict of interest.”

The products, the exception of some accessories, will be removed starting May 13. It is unclear what exactly is the nature of the conflict.

“Target is phasing out Kindles and Amazon- and Kindle-branded products in the spring of 2012,” the company said in a statement. “We will continue to offer our guests a full assortment of ereaders and supporting accessories including the Nook.
