Target this week announced that it will match online prices during the holiday season. The program, which follows a similar initiative by Best Buy, will run from Nov. 1 to Dec. 16 and include items from Amazon and the websites of Walmart, Best Buy and Toys R Us.

"Target's holiday plans are built around an outstanding shopping experience, exclusive merchandise and competitive prices,"  Gregg Steinhafel, Target Chairman, President and CEO, said in a statement. "Our guests will be able to shop with confidence this holiday season knowing that we are intensely focused on providing them the right merchandise at the right price."

In other holiday initiatives, Target said it will debut QR codes in television spots and catalog and bus stop ads. It is also adding free WiFi in all of its stores, as well as exclusive albums from One Direction and Tony Bennett.
