Verizon Customers Can Preorder New BlackBerry

After initially announcing that current Verizon Wireless customers were not eligible to purchase the new BlackBerry Tour smartphone, the carrier has had a change of heart, announcing that both existing and new customers are eligible for the preorder.

According to Boy Genius Report, Verizon on Friday posted to its Web site that "existing customers will be able to upgrade or purchase the BlackBerry Tour on this site very soon." Pre-order shipments are set to begin July 13.

The new smartphone will also be available on Sprint.
