The hit album represents the first-ever #1 debut for the band, which formed in 1973.
The success of "Black Ice" is part of a massive sales effort by the discount retail giant, which has placed "AC/DC Rock Again Store" sections in its stores that also sell DVDs, apparel, and other AC/DC merchandise. Those items will soon be joined by "AC/DC LIVE: Rock Band Track Pack," a video game set for release Nov. 2 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and Nov. 16 on Nintendo Wii.
Best Buy is attempting to get into the act as well; it recently announced an exclusive deal to carry "Chinese Democracy," the long-gestating new album from Guns 'n' Roses.
