Vizio said Tuesday that it has added Rhapsody's digital music service to its HDTVs in the XVT series that are equipped with Vizio Internet Apps (VIA). The deal will give Vizio customers access to Rhapsody's 7 million-song library, getting access in their living room to both the music and cover art.

"Today VIZIO is pleased to be unveiling the first connected HDTV implementation of Rhapsody's award-winning digital music service streaming right to VIZIO VIA enabled HDTVs," Vizio's VP of Products, Matthew McRae, said as part of the announcement.

"Rhapsody is just one of many innovative web-based applications that will roll out on our VIA Connected HDTV platform this year, and we're pleased to be working with Rhapsody to deliver a tightly integrated and rich experience that consumers won't find on any other HDTV currently in the market."

Other applications on Vizio's Internet apps include Blockbuster and Amazon Video on Demand, as well as Showtime, Twitter, and Vudu interfaces.
