Walmart has been named the top retail brand in the U.S., according to Interbrand Design Forum's annual rankings. Walmart also placed first in last year's survey.

The survey of Most Valuable U.S. Retail Brands, held for the second time, named Walmart first, Target second and Best Buy third. Home Depot and Walgreens rounded out the top five.

Among other brands in the CE space making the survey, Sam's Club was 7th, Dell was 8th, Amazon.com 10th, Costco 15th, GameStop 17th, Netflix 26th and RadioShack 30th.

The survey ranked brands according to "financial strength, importance in driving consumer selection and the likelihood of ongoing branded revenue."
