Walmart Thursday announced that it will soon host a huge back-to-school laptop sale, with some regular-sized notebooks even selling for less than standard prices for much smaller netbooks.
Offerings as part of the sale include a Compaq Presario notebook going for $296 and an Acer notebook for $548, both starting July 26. Other offers will begin arriving in August, from both the netbook and standard notebook categories.
"We know all students need solutions that integrate work, entertainment and portability," the retail giant's senior vice president for entertainment,
Gary Severson, said as part of the announcement. "Our increased assortment delivers more targeted offerings from great brands at dramatically affordable prices."
