WD Debuts Streaming Media Player
Western Digital this week announced the launch of a new streaming media player, the WD TV Play, which will stream Internet channels and compete with Roku and Apple TV.
The WD TV Play player includes access to such apps as YouTube, Netflix, Hulu Plus, VUDU, SlingPlayer, Spotify, Pandora and Facebook.
“We are excited to bring popular Internet channels and the ability to play personal media from other connected devices in the home, to budget-minded customers,” Scott Vouri, general manager for WD’s connected life solutions group, said as part of the announcement. “Those features and our new, easy-to-use interface make WD TV Play a product that brings smart-TV benefits to a wide range of people.”
The product is available now at an MSRP of $69.99.
