Web Traffic Surges on Cyber Monday

While sales figures are not yet available, Web traffic on Cyber Monday jumped significantly over the year before, sporting a 30 percent jump over two Mondays previously, numbers roughly in line with those of 2007. That's according to research released Tuesday by Integra Telecom.

Meanwhile, according to Akamai Technologies numbers cited by USA Today, Akamai's clients notched 6.7 million online visitors per minute as of 3 p.m. on Monday- the highest average of the company's five years of tracking traffic.
