HIDDEN, the makers of HiddenRadio radio and wireless speaker, had a choice to make: Was it better to keep up production with their first model, or concentrate their resources on the new-and-improved version? They went with the latter, which is why, heading into the fourth quarter all the units on their website were sold out.
This is how The Buccaneer came to be: three recent college graduates decided they could make a better 3D printer. “The idea was very spur-of-the-moment,” said co-founder Brendan Goh. “We just thought this looks cool, we can do a better one, so we did.”
Light bulbs haven’t changed much in the 175 years since their invention, but that hasn’t been for lack of trying. From LEDs to CFLs, innovators have tried to create environmentally sustainable and cost-effective bulbs that are also a hit with consumers. A recent entrant in the field is LIFX, an LED bulb with built-in Wi-Fi that users can control via a smart phone app. The light bulb’s brightness, color and schedule are customizable.
As with so many new products, the creation of the Stellé Audio Clutch came about because of a need that wasn’t already met in the marketplace. Stellé co-founder and CEO Anna Perelman wanted portable and chic speakers to play her music through while on business trips. She couldn’t find what she wanted, so she made it.
