The Z-Wave Alliance, a global consortium of over 325 member companies supporting the Z-Wave wireless IoT standard, has announced that home improvement company Lowe's has joined its membership with the Iris by Lowe's smart home solution.
Longtime URC executive and former CEDIA President Mitch Klein is now the executive director of the Z-Wave Alliance. “With over 30 years of leadership in the CE and smart home channels, Klein takes leadership reigns at the Alliance at pivotal point in Z-Wave growth,” said the group, which called Klein a “results-driven, hands-on industry leader.”

Staples has revealed its latest online store, Crowd2Shelf, which was created by Fundable and sponsored by Staples to bring startup products to consumers across the country.
Joseph Akhtarzad, co-owner of Southern California retailer Video and Audio Center, held the store’s largest Job Fair to date this month. The company had 81 openings for sales associates, management trainees and custom installers and more than 200 people showed up to apply.
