A Renewed Electronics Expo to Add A Store in N.J.

New Jersey retailer Electronics Expo, having regained its financial footing, will open an additional high-end-brand-populated store next month in the same Union, N.J. 10,800-square-foot facility that had originally housed the chain’s second store, Leon Temiz, its CEO, told Dealerscope Thursday.  The store currently operates out of a single, 19,000-square-foot facility in Wayne, N.J; the new store will hold a soft opening Nov. 6 for the vendor community and then officially open on Nov. 10.

Online Store Channels Seen Losing Advantage to Instore Prices

Anthem Marketing Solutions recently completed its fifth semi-annual report comparing online and instore prices of consumer goods across a range of categories. The categories included were: personal care for infants, toddlers, men and women, electronics, grocery, toys and games, entertainment, household products, and school supplies. Online and in-store prices were compared for: Wal-Mart, Target, Office Max, Office Depot, Staples, Sears, Best Buy, CVS and Walgreens; only in-store prices were taken for Jewel and Dominick’s, and only online prices for Peapod.com and Amazon.com.
