Apple and Ericsson sign agreement after years of cellular patents fights

Apple and telecommunications company Ericsson have finally agreed on a licensing deal after years of legal disputes over wireless cellular patents. The agreement includes a global cross-license for patented cellular technologies and grants certain other patent rights. The two companies have also agreed to strengthen their technology and business collaboration, saying they will work together in the fields of technology, interoperability and standards development. The agreement puts an end to several lawsuits filed by both companies in various countries, including in the United States District Court of the Eastern District of Texas.

In other news, Chevrolet accidentally leaked images of its 2024 Corvette E-Ray hybrid through the company’s online visualizer tool. The design incorporates the C8 Z06’s wide body with the regular model’s exhaust pipes and may come equipped with the regular C8 Corvette’s LT2 V8 engine, according to Engadget. The new hybrid is just one part of Chevy’s plan to start creating more hybrid sports cars, with a fully electric Corvette currently in development.

Lastly, the global gaming gadgets industry is expected to reach $166.9 billion by 2031, according to a report from Research and Markets. The market includes electronic devices that pair with a PC or gaming console, such as keyboards, mice and headsets. Advancements in home gaming consoles like Microsoft’s Xbox Series X/S and Sony’s PlayStation 5 are helping to contribute to the market’s overall growth.
