Consumers Unhappy With Video Downloading
August 2007The survey, of 13,000 respondents in 13 countries, found that only 21 percent of users are “generally satisfied” with the videos they have downloaded from the Internet, a number that drops to 12 percent for those who do not use P2P networks. Also, only 19 percent overall said they plan to download video in the future, and just 16 percent answered “yes” when asked if “the quality of the videos I have downloaded from the Internet is very good.”
The Parks survey refers to downloaded video, and not to streaming or embedded video.

As a content provider and independant producer. I'm glad to see this trend by content companies being noticed. It's most inconvenient to deal with these fly by night models of content distro companies. Either you never receive a dime from these companies or they become unavailable once your content becomes hot. I won't mention any names but I don't mind telling you that being frustrated by this particular vein of internet commerce is a problem for many people delving into this new media.
Good to know that other people are becoming aware.
finally a confirmation to what many of use said for long time.
The implementation of the download business model doesn't work. The content vendors needs to give up on DRM, reduce the price and make all media affordable so people don't think twice.. or less people would think twice before they spend a buck on video or music download.
I just wonder when would they realize this.
