Memorex last week announced that it will soon release a new Blu-ray Disc player costing $269, the lowest suggested retail price to date for a player using the technology. The model, called the MVBD-2510, is scheduled to release in November. “Our customers want products that bring entertainment into their homes, but at a family-friendly price,” the company’s brand director, Carla Pihowich, said as part of the announcement. “With this in mind, we have introduced a Blu-ray Disc player that offers consumers the full High-Definition viewing experience, but at a price that almost anyone can afford.” See here for more information on the player.
