GE Opens Global Data Center at Appliance Park
General Electric's Appliances & Lighting Division unveiled a new, energy efficient brain inside its Appliance Park headquarters Thursday, a $48 million data center to support the business in 100 countries worldwide. Backed up by two diesel-powered generators, the computing powerhouse helps ensure GE’s commitment to revitalizing the historic manufacturing complex, officials said. It was also designated LEED Platinum for environmentally-conscious construction techniques and lean use of water and utilities.
