The eBook market just a bit more interesting as Kobo, the third major platform has been acquired by Japanese company Rakuten. The deal has Rakuten buying 100 percent of Kobo for $315 million. Kobo and all it’s employees will remain as they were, with the deal mostly down to expand Kobo’s reach internationally. Rakuten not only owns Buy.com, but it also has significant e-commerce sites in Japan, Germany, Brazil, China, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Thailand
