1.7 Million iPhones Sold in First Three Days
Apple announced Monday that it sold 1.7 million units of the iPhone 4 in its first three days, easily breaking records. Steve Jobs, as has been his habit of late, proclaimed the launch "the most successful product launch in Apple's history."
The device's release led to long lines all over the country and sellouts at many retailers.
“Even so, we apologize to those customers who were turned away because we did not have enough supply," Jobs said in a statement.
