Philadelphia
Entrances & Exits: The Philadelphia market saw an influx of retailers into the area, which resulted in some fierce competition for consumers' business. Target added three New Jersey stores (Burlington, Turnersville and Vorhees) and two Pennsylvania stores (Springfield and Langhorne). Circuit City opened one location in Philadelphia, making its presence in the area stronger, as did Best Buy with the addition of its Northeast Philadelphia store. Office Depot and Costco opened sites in West Chester, Pa., and King of Prussia, Pa., respectively.
Voorhees, N.J.'s Echelon Mall is now home to Sears. Exton, Pa., will get its own Sears store in October of this year.
