2,200 Mile Bike Ride to CEDIA Earns $40,000 for Cancer Research
The CE Express, a group of CE industry cyclists raising money for cancer research, successfully completed their planned ride from Maine to Colorado, arriving at CEDIA Expo 2006 as scheduled. On Monday, the group announced that the ride raised more than twice last year’s expedition, topping $40,000 in proceeds. The money will be contributed to the Lance Armstrong Foundation and the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care in Maine in equal portions. CEDIA President Ken Smith, who led the ride, said, “Along our trek, we met so many people who were personally touched by this disease. They inspired us to keep going when we didn’t think we could pedal another mile.” Niles Audio Corporation and SpeakerCraft sponsored this year’s trek.
