2012 Dealerscope Hall of Fame: Buchanan, Cole, Ghaznavi, Minarik and Stewart
This year’s Dealerscope Hall of Fame honors a diverse group of executives who have spent their careers working to make consumer electronics more accessible, more innovative, and easier to buy and use.
Despite their different backgrounds and career paths, they share several common traits with other captains of industry. First and foremost, though, they all stressed how important their team of co-workers has been in contributing to their individual success.
“It’s all about the people you have working for you,” said Babak Ghaznavi, president and CEO of Paul’s TV. “I always turn to them for help. They become my partners.”
Faced with more distractions and challenges than ever, too many executives today often ignore the needs and desires of their people. Those challenges, though, are the reasons why they must make it a priority to share more important responsibilities with their co-workers. People’s talents don’t flourish when they’re left to do more of the same task day after day. Most employees today certainly don’t need more work thrown at them. Many of them, though, would like more challenging and diverse opportunities to improve themselves and shine. That’s how leaders are made.
