2017 TV Vendor Roundtable: The Migration to Premium TV
Trying to follow the TV market is a heavy duty undertaking. There's so much change happening in the space, new technologies being introduced, and a lot of consumer education that needs to happen around certain buzzwords floating around the industry. So, with that in mind, Dealerscope Editor-in-Chief Nancy Klosek reached out to some of the top executives in the TV business to get their thoughts on the current state of the industry and to pick their brains on where they think the TV market is heading. Dealerscope: Are your 4K UHD sales tracking as you thought they would at mid-year, for your company specifically, and separately, for the industry as a whole? What market factors are influencing this result
Rick Calacci, Senior Vice President, Home Entertainment Sales, LG Electronics USA: Industry sales are healthy at mid-year, and LG is growing faster than the industry overall. We’re seeing strong sell-through at all levels of 4K UHD. That’s especially seen in the premium segment – not just OLED but higher-end UHD, too - what we call LG Super UHD powered by our new Nano Cell technology.
