TV Makers Will Continue to Cut 4K UHD TV Prices
Tier-one TV manufactures will continue to drop the prices of their 4K UHD TVs heading into the holiday season to inform consumers that next year's sets will be far less expensive than the first generation.
"We are seeing some price declines," Michael Schwab, D&H Distributing's co-president, said at the company's Mid-Atlantic Fall Technology Show Wednesday in Hershey, Pa. "It's still very difficult for consumers to correlate the prices without content."
The price drops, Schwab and others said, are designed to help create demand next year when more native 4K UHD content is expected to be available. Sony and Samsung recently cut the prices of their 4K UHD TV sets. The price of some sets are expected to drop even lower around the holidays.
