Circuit City Gets OK to Break Leases
A bankruptcy court has granted Circuit City approval to either auction off or break leases at its stores and other real estate it owns. According to the Associated Press, the order includes stores, the company's corporate headquarters and distribution centers, as well as its private jet.
The chain, which began liquidating last month, had asked for permission to do so in late January.
The company's counsel also told the court that its liquidation operations are going faster than expected.
