Expect the Unexpected at International CES
One of the perks in attending CES is the ease and accessibility of many premium home audio brands that may offer an opportunity for car audio retailers to revisit their enthusiasm for great audio. Sure, the manufacturers in the North Hall have demo cars for car audio products on display and many of those are great sounding examples. Last year we reported on some great sounding cars, particularly in the JL Audio, ARC Audio and Hybrid Audio/IASCA booths. And, there are always plenty more from which to choose.
Still, the opportunity to spend a little time with home audio manufacturers listening to some of their highest end products at the show (or neighboring hotel sites) allows those 12 volt retailers attending a chance to hear and experience a caliber of audio reproduction they may have long since forgotten if they’re not running their own high-end home audio systems.
Another vehicle we covered last year, Jon Whitledge’s Dodge Sprinter van (a.k.a. “The Magic Bus”) is returning to the Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel back parking area for people to audition and enjoy. In addition to the Magic Bus’ return, visitors can also enjoy the Grammy award-winning guitarist Larry Mitchell who will be playing through reference monitors and, subsequently, through the Magic Bus’ audio system for comparison. If you’re a live music fan, this is a very cool opportunity to hear Larry play.
