Best Buy Price-Matching Suit Proceeds
A court has given the okay for a lawsuit against Best Buy to proceed, which alleges that the CE retail giant schemed to avoid advertised price-matching guarantees.
According to the Web site HDGuru, class action certification was given last week by the US District Court, Southern District, for the suit, which alleges that Best Buy uses "false and deceptive trade practices in advertising and applying the company’s well-known 'price match guarantee.' policy."
The suit also alleges that the chain maintains an "Anti-Price Matching Policy,” which has been distributed from the corporate level to store managers and other employees, and that managers have received bonuses for avoiding paying the bonuses.
