A Harris Poll issued in mid-June found that more Americans currently own HD DVD than Blu-ray Disc players. But the Blu-ray Disc Association is questioning the results of the poll, Home Media Magazine reported Friday.
The Blu-ray association found that recent Adams Media Research data put the Blu-ray ownership number at 8 percent and HD DVD at 1 percent, as opposed to the Harris numbers of 7 and 11 percent, respectively. Adams president Tom Adams told the magazine that he attributed the Harris mistake to respondents not knowing the difference, and believing that their Blu-ray player was "HD."
