Another day, another indictment for LCD TV price-fixing.
Tuesday, according to Reuters, an executive with Hitachi was indicted by a federal grand jury in San Francisco for participating in a price-fixing conspiracy involving LCD panels. The executive, Sakae Someya, allegedly conspired to eliminate competition in a deal in which panels were sold to Dell, during a three-year period ending in 2004.
Since the start of the probe, Reuters said, four companies and eight individuals have been charged for participation in the conspiracy, paying $585 million in fines. Hitachi itself in early March agreed to plead guilty to its part in the conspiracy.
