Circuit City Heroes Still With Company- and Still Unnamed
The recent round of massive layoffs at Circuit City apparently spared the still unnamed employee who helped tip off authorities to the alleged Fort Dix terror plot- and the company now says there were actually two employees at the Mt. Laurel, N.J. location who deserve credit for foiling the plot.
The Courier Post newspaper in nearby Cherry Hill, N.J., reported Friday that Circuit City is now giving credit both to the original employee, and to a colleague who assisted him in alerting local police, who in turn notified the FBI. The employees intercepted the tape by the accused terrorists in January of 2006, and despite the company’s laying off of 3,500 experienced sales associates in March of this year, both employees are still with the company, a Circuit City spokesman told the Courier Post, although the company has not commented about whether they are still at the Mount Laurel store.
Neither Circuit City nor any media outlet had identified either employee as of Friday morning.
