Cingular customers can now get calls from XM Satellite Radio. The mobile phone service provider announced a partnership with XM Radio that will make available 25 streaming channels from the satellite radio company. The service goes active on Noveber 6 and while it won’t eat up minutes on subscribers plans, it will cost $8.99 per month. Users will be able view the song title, artist and album data as well, but download options (a hotly contested feature on recent portable satellite radio gear) are not a feature of this service.
Only commercial-free music stations will be available, including: The 70s, 80s and 90s decades channels, Top
20 on 20 (Top 20 Hits), Lucy (Classic Alternative Hits), The City(Hip-Hop/R&B Hits), XMU (Indie Rock), Bluesville (Blues), America (Classic Country Hits), and Viva (Latin Pop Hits).
